It’s Not Our Problem Until It Is
We just got through the 3rd quarter and have been on track for what some market theorists call a normal year of equity performance in the US. No, I’m not talking about a market that is up 15 or 20 percent but one of those dull years where we see a return of 6 or 8 percent. This looked like being one of those years of performance that long term financial planning types suggest that you should expect to see “on average.” Most US investors focus correctly on the events that are happening close to home. The bulk of our assets are invested in US dollar investments so why shouldn’t we be US centric in our thoughts and actions surrounding our portfolios?
